Double-sided storage for 7" reels, so a single unit holds a large small-reel buffer line-side instead of spreading it over open shelving.
Overview
The NORDEC Smart Shelf 7" double-sided is built for high-mix SMT lines running large volumes of small reels. In a six-layer configuration for 8 mm tape it holds up to 1344 reels per 2.25 m unit, and LED pick-to-light guidance indicates the required position so an operator picks a reel in 3 seconds once the light is on. Position sensors confirm that a reel was removed from or placed in the indicated position. Reels are registered to a location on receipt, so FIFO sequencing and traceability follow the material-management setup rather than an operator remembering where a reel went. Castor-mounted for line-side mobility.

Receive
Scan the shelf or cart and the reel, place it in the position shown, and finish the transaction. The reel is now registered to a location.
Request
Select the pick list and the storage unit it should be picked from.
Pick
LEDs indicate the required reel positions. The light switches off once the reel has been removed.
Complete
The transaction is closed and the picked reels leave the registered locations.
